White Lingbi Chinese Scholar Stone

Collector's Item

White Lingbi, also referred to as "White Jade,” formed under intense heat and pressure over 900 million years ago and is only found in the Dugu Mountain in the Anhui Province of China.

These stones have a pure white core and are dotted with red spots, overlaid with what was once grey or black mud that has solidified to form a rough textured outer layer that appears almost as folds over the white background. Erosion by wind and water over the centuries has caused the outer layer to be worn away to expose the white inner core. The stones are among the most highly prized by connoisseurs and collectors.

Dimensions: 12" H x 8" W x 2" D. Weight: 9 lbs.
